!: solar aquaponics setup

An aquaponics system run completely off of solar power. A homemade solar panel charges a battery and in turn powers an air and water (bilge) pump. An Arduino (overkill, I'm sure, but there's more to it than just that) with a relay on the board controls the water pump - 3 minutes on, 17 minutes off. No siphon system, just fill and drain. Currently I have white tilapia and green swordtails in the pond and lettuce, cherry tomato, chives, and rosemary plants in the black cinder grow bed. This is my first system, so I'm learning a great deal. The panel produces enough voltage (~14V under load) to charge a 12V battery and by solar cell specs produces ~2A. The water pump is on a timer because the panel does not collect enough to power the water pump and air pump 24/7. I am currently in the process of adding another water pump.
